On my first day of having a focus on speed training I just decided to hit some 10- and 20-yard splits. I figured that I would be fairly sore hitting up a different type of explosive movement/plyometric so I didn't throw any sort of resistance (bands, sled, etc.) on during my working sets. I need to time my 40-yard dash soon so I can see (hopeful) the gradual improvements. Again, I'm not looking for a huge, quick improvement. I understand this is a completely different movement that I need to get used to and "master" but I am looking forward to getting under a 4.50 40-yard dash within the next 3-4 years. That's the biggest thing I want my clients to understand and that's why I'm taking this new journey myself. I'm fairly athletic from 4-years of training to increase my strength and my vertical and I'm not looking for any quick results now that I have interest in lowering my 40-yard dash time.
